Michael Bowers Killed in High-Speed Car Crash on Azure Avenue [North Las Vegas, NV]
Michael Bowers Dies in North Las Vegas Accident
NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (May 19, 2020) — A two-vehicle crash at East Azure Avenue and Statz Street turned fatal Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Clark County Coroner, 20-year-old Michael Bowers died in the 3:20 p.m. collision that involved two vehicles. The coroner’s office stated that his death was caused by blunt-force injuries.
Investigators say the Ford Mustang, Bowers had been a passenger in, crashed into a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a light pole at the intersection after traveling at speeds of about 80 to 90 mph in a 25-mph zone.
The impact ejected Bowers from the cabin of the sedan, causing him fatal injuries.
The Mustang driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries while the pickup truck driver, described as a male in his 50s, should survive his injuries.
In their investigation, police learned that speeding played a role in the accident; impairment, however, did not.
