Kyle Gabbard Killed in Motorcycle Collision on 6th Street [Tucson, AZ]
Kyle Gabbard Dies in Motorcycle Accident at East 6th Street and North Plumer Avenue
TUCSON, AZ (May 19, 2020)—A 33-year-old man died following Wednesday’s motorcycle accident at East 6th Street and North Plumer Avenue.
According to Tucson Police, the accident happened around 10 a.m. just east of the University of Arizona campus.
Investigators believe Kyle E. Gabbard was riding westbound on East 6th Street in a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. However, while entering the intersection with North Plumer Avenue, a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee crossed the intersection at the same time and struck the 33-year-old man.
Witnesses testified that the Harley-Davidson was speeding prior to the impact. Furthermore, evidence at the scene indicated that speed, in fact, played a factor.
Although Gabbard wore a helmet at the time of the accident, he sustained fatal injuries and died at Banner University Medical Center.
The unidentified Jeep driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police questioning. So far, no citations have been issued, and officials are continuing their investigation of the accident.
