COACHELLA, CA (May 4, 2020) – Authorities confirmed that a semi-truck crash on Highway 86 led to fuel spill Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Avenue 50 around 2:32 PM.
The Riverside County Fire Department responded to the collision involving two semi-trucks. As a result, an estimated 100 gallons of diesel fuel was spilled on the roadway.
Paramedics said that no one suffered injuries in the incident.
A hazardous-materials crew and officials from the Department of Environmental Health arrived at the scene to assist in the fuel spill.
