Teen Rider Seriously Injured in Crash on Pomerado Road [San Diego, CA]
Vehicle and Motorcycle Involved in Broadside Crash near Caminito Vecinos
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 30, 2020) – A teen rider suffered serious injuries in a crash in the 16600 block of Pomerado Road on Thursday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Caminito Vecinos around 4:45 PM.
A report from the San Diego Police Department showed the 18-year-old man in the westbound lane when it broadsided the right front passenger door of a 2008 blue Chrysler PT Cruiser that turned left into his path onto Caminito Vecinos.
As a result, the rider ejected from the motorcycle and sustained life-threatening injuries. After that, paramedics transported the victim to a hospital. The victim sustained injuries to the face in addition to head trauma and brain bleeding. The 80-year-old woman driving the PT Cruiser was not injured.
Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash. However, an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
