Car Theft Involved in Hit-and-Run Collision near Montgomery Street
CHULA VISTA, CA (April 9, 2020) – Police reported that a stolen car was involved in a broadside crash on 4th Avenue on Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Montgomery Street shortly after 7:00 AM.
The Ford Fusion crashed into an off-duty postal worker’s vehicle and drive off afterward. The postal worker followed the male driver until he pulled over at Main Street.
The man then flashed a gun at the victim. The victim retreated and called the police. Officers found then found damaged Fusion and found out that it had been reported stolen in National City on Monday.
No one was hurt in the incident. Police had no detailed description of the armed auto-theft suspect.
