Edith Rascon Killed in Crash on South Campbell Avenue [Tucson, AZ]
One Dead and Three Juveniles Injured in Crash near Drexel Road
TUCSON, AZ (April 3, 2020) – Police identified Edith Rascon as the person killed in a crash on South Campbell Avenue on late Friday evening.
According to Tucson Police, the accident happened near Drexel Road at approximately 10:35 PM.
Reports from the Tucson Police Department showed that Rascon’s Chevrolet Avalanche ran a red light and crashed into the front bumper of a Nissan Maxima. As a result, the Chevy struck a street light pole and continued into a wooden power pole coming before it stopped in a chain-link fence.
31-year-old Rascon was pronounced dead at the scene. Her three juvenile passengers were taken to Banner University Medical Center. Two sustained minor injuries while the third one had serious non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Nissan stopped and remained on the scene. Speed appeared to be a factor in the crash.
