Woman Killed in Car Crash on Highway 18 Near Apple Valley Road [Apple Valley, CA]
Four-Car Accident in Apple Valley Claims Woman’s Life
APPLE VALLEY, CA (April 2, 2020) — Tuesday afternoon, a four car crash on Highway 18 near Apple Valley Road killed a woman in Apple Valley.
According to the Apple Valley police, the incident occurred when a blue 2002 Chrysler Town and Country van crashed into a westbound 2014 Toyota RAV4 on Highway 18 from behind.
The impact forced the Toyota into the eastbound lanes where it slammed into a gray 2012 Toyota Highlander and a white Dodge minivan.
Subsequently, the Toyota RAV4 partially overturned at some point during the crash, causing the woman fatal injuries.
Paramedics responded shortly after and transported a passenger inside the white van to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Fortunately, the other vehicle occupants evaded harm.
Due to cleanup and investigations, officials closed Highway 18 in both directions for several hours.
Police did not release any additional information regarding the accident at this time. Because information is limited, the Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team plans to look more closely into the crash.
