Seven Vehicles Involved in DUI Crash near Highway 168
FRESNO, CA (March 28, 2020) – Fresno Police confirmed that two people became hospitalized after a DUI crash on Highway 180 on Saturday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred near Highway 168.
The pile-up started when a Camry going over 100 mph rear-ended another vehicle. The vehicle became disabled in the roadway and collided with a total of five vehicles. The Camry kept moving west before it stopped at the embankment and caught fire.
Paramedics transported the driver of the Camry to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of major head injuries. In addition, another person in a different car went to another hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver of the Camry drove under the influence. He will be booked into the Fresno County Jail upon release from the hospital.
