Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 15 Freeway Near Glen Helen Parkway [Fontana, CA]
Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car in Fontana
FONTANA, CA (March 30, 2020) — A man perished in a pedestrian accident on 15 Freeway near Glen Helen Parkway Sunday night.
Around 9:00 p.m., California Highway Patrol and emergency personnel responded to news about a body lying in the No. 2 southbound lane.
Upon arrival, emergency workers inspected the body of a male pedestrian and pronounced the man dead at the scene. After that, they requested a San Bernardino County coroner’s assistance shortly after.
According to a CHP log, a witness reported seeing two pedestrians run across the freeway. The logs further indicated that a gray Honda Civic pulled over to the right shoulder and contacted dispatch. However, the driver of the Honda Civic remained at the scene and cooperated with investigations.
Following the crash, several other cars pulled over to the center divider. However, one car reportedly crashed in a ditch for unexplained reasons.
Because so many details and accounts regarding this incident remain unclear, an ongoing investigation remains in place.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to the bereaved family and friends of the victim.
