PHOENIX, AZ (March 25, 2020) – Police identified Herman Nakai as the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car on 59th Avenue on Wednesday night.
According to Phoenix Police, the collision occurred near Thomas Road at approximately 10:30 PM.
Nakai was found by authorities with critical injuries but he later died at the scene.
The 45-year-old driver and two other people in the car cooperated with an investigation. As a result, officials said that speed appeared to be a factor in the incident.
