Janeva Thorbrogger, David Alexander Crash, Resulting in Injuries Following Highway 12 Accident Near Double Springs Road

 
VALLEY SPRINGS, CA (March 26, 2020)—Four people sustained minor to major injuries following a head-on collision on Highway 12 near Double Springs Road.
 
Crews held a one-way traffic control around 11:15 a.m. following the two-car accident.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened during heavy rainfall. Authorities determined that 79-year-old David Alexander veered off the road toward the north shoulder of Highway 12. He subsequently overcorrected and traveled into the opposite lane, where his vehicle struck Janeva Thorbrogger‘s car.
 
Alexander, of Mokelumne Hill, and two children—ages 10 and 3—inside Thorbrogger’s vehicle sustained minor injuries in the accident. Paramedics transported the children to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. Alexander, however, declined transport.
 
As for 30-year-old Thorbrogger, of Valley Springs, she sustained major injuries. Due to the severity of her injuries, paramedics shuttled her to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, as well.
 
Authorities have yet to determine the underlying factor of this incident. Thus far, police have ruled out impairment as a possibility.
