Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on 5 Freeway [Sacramento, CA]
Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Fatal Crash near Cosumnes River Boulevard
SACRAMENTO, CA (March 23, 2020) – Police confirmed that a woman died in a hit-and-run accident on 5 Freeway on Monday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Cosumnes River Boulevard at approximately 10:00 PM.
Based on reports, the victim walked in the southbound lanes of the highway. After that, a blue or green older-model BMW hit her. However, the driver fled the scene after the collision.
Police said that several vehicles may have struck the victim afterward. She died at the scene, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. However, police did not identity her at this time.
The southbound lanes were blocked while CHP investigated the case. However, no other details were released.
